Summary: (Back of Book)
Survive at any coast.
    Ten concentration camps.
Ten different places where you are starved, tortured, and worked mercilessly.
It's something no one could imagine surviving.
But that is what Yanek Gruener had to face.
As a Jewish boy in the 1930s Poland, Yanek is at the mercy of the Nazis who have taken over. Everything he has and everyone he loves ave been snatched brutally from him. And then Yanek himself is taken prisoner-his arm marked B-3087.

He is forced from one nightmarish concentration camp to another, as World War II rages all around him. He encounters evil he could never have imagined, but also sees surprising glimpses of hope amid the horror.
Can Yanek make it through without losing his will to live-and, most of all, his sense of who he really is inside?

My Review:
One word to describe this book...wow. This book was so moving and so powerful to me, it was unbelievable. This book was so moving to me, causing real pain and tears, and the fact that it was based on a true story just wows me. We all know how sad and depressing the Holocaust was for many people, but this story takes you on a journey through a young teenage boys eyes, and you are with him, every step of the way. Overall, a very well written book, and one of my personal favorites.
I would recommend this book to anyone who can handle a little pain, tears, and most certainly, a more depressing book. You really need to be a more mature reader to read this kind of book, but trust me, it is worth every second of it. I gave this book a 10/10 for the only reason that it was just an all around amazing book. There is nothing wrong with this book, it is all perfect. Happy Reading!

Favorite Quotes:
“Your parents, Oskar and Mina. They are dead and gone now, Yanek, and we would grieve them if we could. But we have only one purpose now: survive. Survive at all costs, Yanek. We cannot let these monsters tear us from the pages of the world.”
Alan Gratz, Prisoner B-3087

"It was all a big joke. I could see that now. There was no rhyme or reason to whether we lived or died. One day it might be the man next to you at roll call who is torn apart by dogs. The next day it might be you who is shot through the head. You could play the game perfectly and still lose, so why bother playing at all?”

My Review:
I found, The Future of Us to be a really interesting book. The plot really was interesting to me and really kept me wanting to read more.It was nothing like I've read before so I liked that. But I also liked the little romance between the two main characters. I feel like this book can relate to any teenager. Male or female. Another thing I liked was that it went back and forth between Emma and Josh's perspective in every chapter. I really like that about books because to lets you know how both the characters feel about one situation.
I recommend this book for boys and girls, of any age. I feel that everyone can relate to either Josh or Emma in some way and that's why so many people like this book. I gave it a 6/10 because there where some parts I was like why is this in here. But I know that's just how I feel I mean some of you could be in completely love with how this is written but it's really not me. Other then that, it was a great book and I hope you enjoy it.
